From all accounts, New York Governor Eliot Spitzer seemed like that ideal. On a wave of hope and optimism, Spitzer rode his popularity from his time as Attorney General to a governorship with 70 percent of the vote. New Yorkers, a naturally cynical people as we all know, dared optimism and hope in a candidate that seemed real, a Democrat they could believe in. Any parallels come to mind?
